What questions should I ask my surgeon during my pre-op visit?
May 10, 2021- Exactly what type of surgery will I be having? How will you be doing the surgery? (For example, laparoscopic or robotic?)
- What are the risks of this kind of surgery?
- Is there anything I can do to get myself ready for surgery and reduce my personal risk? What steps can I take now to help my recovery?
- What experience do you have treating patients like me? Will I be seeing a WOCN in the hospital? Will they see me before or after surgery or both?
- What will my life be like after surgery? Will I be able to return to my favorite activities?
- What is ERAS? (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery?) How will that impact my operation and hospital stay?
